I'm running WSJT-X v 2.1.1 64 bit on a Win 8 laptop. I often leave
WSJT-X running overnight monitoring FT8 on 1.84 MHz. Most mornings the
Decode light is on continuously and no decodes are being made. The
only way I have found to recover from this is to re-start WSJT-X.
I have been using WSJT-X since before version 1.0 was released and
have often left it running for days at a time. The decode lock up is
a fairly new issue.
What is the cause and how can it be prevented?

Hi Andy,
there's no single cause for those symptoms. Is the waterfall still
progressing when this happens? Is the Rx level thermometer type
indicator still active when this happens?
Try enabling "Menu->Save->Save all" and then see if the last saved .WAV
file is a possible candidate for causing the issue. You can check its
date and time from its name and also try playing it back in WSJT-X to
see if it causes the issue to be reproduced.
If .WAV files are still being saved after this issue, try playing back
all from the last good decode time onwards to see if one of them
triggers the issue. Use "Menu->File->Open" to play back a .WAV file. You
can also play back either the next .WAV file in time sequence or all the
remaining .WAV files from the same pop up menu.
If you can isolate a .WAV file that triggers the issue that would be
most helpful.
