It seems that having WSJT-X send the the new RX frequency to both VFOs when a band change happens would be the simplest solution. The user could then hit the TUNE button while still in split mode, get a match, then set up the split TX freq on the other VFO... Another option would be for the user to to use the "Fake It" split mode, which , I believe will accomplish the same thing without all the fuss...
