Bill,
Ø Similarly a priori decoding based on the DX Call field are disabled by clearing the DX call field. If you are going to leave WSJT-X unattended then clearing the DX Call field is a good idea. Thanks for that. Noted. It is fully noted and makes sense. Some observations had occurred after periods of long “inactivity” … but they may have more frequently occurred after a long silent period then activity (and I’ll watch for this further). Many of us do leave WSJT-X unattended whether it be for WSPR or just plain reporting/helping others with propagation “estimations” via https://pskreporter.info . I will post one observation that appears to back your comments above - it just occurred a few seconds ago after I changed from 40m to 20m. It has been sitting at 40m for around 6 hrs, then a change: 200514_205030 7.074 Rx FT8 -17 0.0 1614 RA2FCL BH3PTL OM99 200514_205130 7.074 Rx FT8 -17 0.1 1614 RA2FCL BH3PTL OM99 200514_205315 14.074 Rx FT8 -18 0.2 2307 N4PHH KS4R RR73 <== FREQUENCY CHANGE 200514_205415 14.074 Rx FT8 -5 0.1 2360 SQ9UM VK9NK RG30 200514_205415 14.074 Rx FT8 -19 0.1 735 CQ VK7XX QE38 a1 200514_205445 14.074 Rx FT8 -8 0.1 2359 SQ9UM VK9NK RG30 200514_205445 14.074 Rx FT8 -19 0.2 2307 CQ KS4R DM43 a1 200514_205515 14.074 Rx FT8 -7 0.1 2360 SQ9UM VK9NK RG30 200514_205515 14.074 Rx FT8 -16 0.1 735 KF5RRX VK7XX RR73 200514_205530 14.074 Tx FT8 0 0.0 703 CQ VK3VM QF11 200514_205545 14.074 Rx FT8 -10 0.1 2360 SQ9UM VK9NK RG30 200514_205545 14.074 Rx FT8 -12 0.1 735 KF5RRX VK7XX RR73 200514_205545 14.074 Rx FT8 -20 0.2 2307 SV5DKL KS4R DM43 200514_205545 14.074 Rx FT8 -24 2.4 1882 VK3VM KP0VKB R AA86 ? a2 200514_205600 14.074 Tx FT8 0 0.0 703 KP0VKB VK3VM RR73 200514_205615 14.074 Rx FT8 -9 0.1 2360 CQ VK9NK RG30 I won’t post the recording as it is unnecessary to do so; I just played it back under 2.2 and “the main fork” and no false decodes ! But perhaps clearing the DX field on a detected frequency change (or the ability to set this as a configuration option) may be in order for investigation? I can perceive this being a difficult one to overcome. 73 Steve I VK3VM / VK3SIR
