I have always run with the decode parameters you cite and it works for me the same now (with 2.2.0-rc1) as it always has - not a blank line, but a dashed line with the band, between decodes. I am currently running Win10-64bit, but have run WSJTx on Win 7 and Mac OS X.
I did notice though that, if unchecking “decodes at bottom” and checking “blank line between periods”, some late decodes would show at top without the dashed line.
