As I recall in earlier versions of WSJT-X, when in the FT8 mode, when a user typed a band number followed by the letter "m", such as "20m", in the Band pulldown menu box, the frequency would change to 14074 KHz. However, in version 2.2.2 when "20m" is typed into the band box, instead of switching to the 14074 KHz FT8 frequency, it switches to the 14.0966 WSPR frequency. No matter what band number plus the letter "m" is typed into the band box.WSJT-X always switches to the WSPR frequency used on that band. It does this when any other mode (FT4, FT8, JT65, etc.) is the currently selected mode.

The QLog program, written by Sam, W2JDB is used by many blind Hams around the world to make digital QSOs with WSJT-X. QLog's ALT+B shortcut addresses the band box and allows the user to type in a band number plus "m" to quickly move to the correct frequency on that band for the currently selected mode. It used to work correctly in earlier versions of WSJT-X.

Typing the band + "m" in the WSJT-X band box should change the correct frequency for the current digital mode.I hope that this bug can be corrected in the next version of WSJT-X.
Thanks.

Hi Rich,

I'm not sure the behaviour you describe has been implemented since mode specific working frequencies were introduced several versions back. I agree it is probably desirable behaviour and I have changed WSJT-X for the next release such that, only if a working frequency for the current selected mode and IARU region is available, will it accept a wavelength entry in the working frequency drop-down entry field, and in that case it will select the lowest working frequency for the currently selected IARU region and mode for that band.
