I have not noticed any thing on HF, but on 6m I put a GAsFET preamp in line and that screwed up all my audio settings and had to renormalize them.
It did help rx a bit. (more than my internal TS590sg preamp). I've turned it off and am using the ARR now. 73, ...and BTW, you must play with the new mode Q65 some, especially if you have some patience and can sked some people. I have routinely been working guys 1100 miles on 6m with 25w max on each end, if there isn't too much noise. Mode Q65-120E (2 minute tx/rx) It is using ionoscatter and also meteor pings help a little, but for pure meteor scatter, MSK144 is better...if and only if their are meteors.
