I've been running WSJT-X version 2.4.0-rc4 on a quad core Dell Z440
computer using Windows 10. I've found what appears to be an anomaly that I
don't recall seeing as being reported. I was calling a BD station in China
on 17M FT8,. I called using the Tx2 vs the Tx1 message. I noticed that as
the minutes passed, and the BD station contacted other stations, the WD
timer stayed at the default value of 6 as I continued calling higher on the
widegraph screen. However, after a period of time, probably 6 minutes, the
Enable Tx light went off and my transmissions stopped. The counter in the
lower right corner of the main WSJT-X screen remained at 6 until the
transmission stopped. It never decremented at all.

Next, I tested the watchdog timer , calling the BD station using the Tx1
message, By that time that station was much weaker. As I continued calling,
after about 2 minutes the WD counter decremented to 5. After another 2
minutes, the WD timer decremented to 4. But even stranger, after another 2
minutes, the watchdog time *incremented* from 4 to 5 as I continued calling
that same BD station. Two minutes later, the WD timer *incremented again*,
from 5 to 6.

I continued calling the BD station and the WD timer then started
to decrement every couple of minutes and this time it got down to 3. But, a
few minutes later, it jumped from 3 to 6.
At this point I stopped the test.

Have others seen this strange behavior?
