I have the same 4 to 5 second transmit time delay problem too, but never
reported it as I thought it was something I was doing wrong. But now that I see
others are having the same issue, the problem goes back to an earlier version
of WSJT-X, I thought I should report it, especially since I don't use the
"normal" set up it might be of help to you for the other versions. My
computer:Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz 3.60GHzInstalled
memory RAM 12.0GB64 Bit operating System, x64-based processor.Windows 10.
My radio:Kenwood TS-430s.
Since it doesn't have a USB connection I feed the audio into the Mic connection
and use PTT VOX.
I use WSJT-X version 2.2.1
I never have updated to a newer version because of this problem. I feared I get
more problems if I updated.
