Cornel,

WSJT-X does not send the grid of stations calling via UDP status updates unless it is a decoded message containing a grid, or if the user fills in the DX Grid field, either manually or by double-clicking a decode containing a grid square.

I reiterate, the Log QSO button and dialog in WSJT-X is the way that QSOs are expected to be logged, the UDP message sent for a logged QSO contains al the information gathered from the Log QSO dialog.

More details of the WSJT_X UDP Protocol can be found in the commentary at the top of this file:

Hi Bill,
obviously wsjt-x is transmitting some data in some situations using UDP. Cqrlog is receiving these data and fills it fields with it. So callsign is transmitted, RST report seems also to be transmitted via UDP  but Grid/Locator is not in this line.

But when using the button "Log QSO" in wsjt-x then all this data is transferred via UDP.

So, my purpose is to equalize the transmitting in each of these ways.

Perhaps my way to do a log is the wrong one, but if data IS submitted, when wsjt-x goes in send-mode, then alle the requested data should be transferred, right?

I would appreciate, if in case of generating std msgs or enabling TX in wsjt-x the data transfer follow standard rules like when clicking on "log-QSO".

    Cornel,

if I understand correctly you are saying that if you do not log
    the QSO
in WSJT-X then your QSO is not correctly logged in cqrlog. What am I
missing, because I don't see how anything gets logged if you do
    not log
    the QSO in WSJT-X?
