Just my couple of cents here,
If your computer is in a stable condition, working fine, protected by
a firewall and antivirus software, and you're not using it to browse
any malicious websites then there should not be any real need
to upgrade unless you install new hardware that has no device drivers
available for the version you're using.
Personally I'm still running Windows 7 on hardware purchaced around
2014. I tried upgrading to Windows 10 once and it installed fine but
had a catastrophic failure after a few hours of operation. After that
I restored the Windows 7 image and have no intention of trying any
Windows upgrades for now. Maybe in 5-15 years time when I decide to
upgrade the hardware too. That decision will not arise until there
is a really good software demanding more resources or until the
current hardware fails and there are no spare parts available.

I have been running Win11 since it first became available in the Dev
channel. I have not had any problems with WSJT-X ( any version) or any
of the other apps that I normally use.
