After downloading and successfully installing the Win64 version of WSJT-X 2.5.3, I made a successful FT8 QSO. After it was complete I sent one "$DX 12345" TX5 macro to that same station with my radio in the test mode. The line for that $DX message transmission appeared fine in the "Rx Frequency" column. A minute or so later, I looked up and the WSJT-X main and wide graph screens were gone. They were not in the Windows taskbar. When I tried to restart WSJT-X, an error message popped up; "Sub-process error Failed to close orphaned jt9 process". I opened the Task Manager and stopped the jt9 process.
After restarting WSJT-X again, I was able to make another QSO, but a minute or so later, again WSJT-X disappeared from the screen. When I tried again to restart WSJT-X, I again received the message about the orphaned jt9 process. I again killed the jt9 process. After the third restart of WSJT-X, I made a number of successful QSOs and so far the program has not closed itself again. Has anyone else experienced this anomaly? 73, Rich - K1HTV
