Hi WSJT-Developers, Thank you for all the excellent programming (coding) effort you put into further developing, enhancing and maintaining K1JT’s "WSJT-X" software for amateur (ham) radio!
However, I would like to report a bug in that software regarding the behavior of the Power Slider in WSJT-X’s main GUI. See details below. Bug Report Details: Today (Feb. 11, 2022), after upgrading from WSJT-X version 2.5.2 to 2.5.4, the "Pwr" Slider on the WSJT-X's main window started acting "goofy." I reverted back to the prior version (2.5.2) and the Pwr slider works fine. Repeatedly trying the newer version (2.5.4) results in this slider acting goofy. Repeatedly returning to the earlier version (2.5.2) fixes the problem and the power slider behaves normally. Here are more details about the Pwr slider's goofy behavior in WSJT-X version 2.5.4. Initially, when starting this version, the power slider may be positioned normally. In my case, this is about 3 tick marks down from the slider's top most setting (gain about -7 dB). However, the minute I mouse click on that slider's position, the slider's pointer jumps down to the bottom (about 2-3 ticks from the slider's bottom-most setting). Thereafter, while trying to slide the Pwr slider, it's pointer acts really erratic. At first, I assumed that v2.5.4 may have reversed the Pwr Slider (i.e. now the bottom was maximum instead of the top). However, that assumption proved false as attempts to drag and slide the Pwr slider's pointer resulted in chaotic behavior. Perhaps, others are experiencing that goofy Pwr slider behavior in version 2.5.4. For now, I'll just revert back to ONLY using WSJT-X v2.5.2 until you squash this bug. My configuration: Relevant ham gear & computer hardware: ICOM IC-7610 Connected via the rig's USB port to the computer Apple MacBook Pro laptop (Intel-based, 16”) Relevant software: Mac OS 12.2 (aka Monterey) WSJT-X version 2.5.2 (Pwr slider works fine) WSJT-X version 2.5.3 (Pwr slider "goofy" & "twitchy”) WSJT-X version 2.5.4 (Pwr slider "goofy" & "twitchy”) 73, Tony/K4QR P.S. The “Per” Slider bug that I am reporting in WSJT-X version 2.5.4 also manifested itself in the prior version (2.5.3). Sometime ago, I reported that Per slider bug in version 2.5.3 to the WJST-X group in Groups.io; however, at that time, I did not submit my problem report directly to you ([email protected]). Earlier today, I did submit a separate problem report about the Pwr slider’s bug in the prior version (2.5.3). The above problem report shows that the bug carried over into the latest production release (2.5.4).
