Then let's make it switchable. The majority of users will certainly find a
Tune watchdog useful and want to have it activated, but those who don't
like it can then simply switch it off. Good solution.

As others have stated, there are occasions when one wants to use WSJT-X to
generate a carrier for a long, non-fixed time. For example, someone on
10GHz EME was doing exactly that (to look for drift in a TWT over time.
Having a time limited Tune would be a new feature that a number of folks
won't like, as expressed here in other messages.

If a 'watchdog' is to be added to Tune, then please allow those of us who
don't want it to be able to revert to its historic behaviour.

Well, basically it is no problem to make a checkbox to deactivate such a
TUNE watchdog, but tell me: What do you need it for?

Make it a programmable (up to 10 minutes) time, default to 2 minutes.

Hi all,

Since I had similar requests for such a function in the past, I already
programmed a time limit for the TUNE button a few weeks ago. This will be
included in the next WSJTX release. 10 seconds is of course much too short,
but I think 2 minutes is reasonable. This should be long enough to tune
your antenna, but it effectively prevents unwanted continuous transmissions.

Uh, no!

Hello

Not a huge priority, but one of those nice to have please…

With the TUNE button, can this be limited to timeout at 10 seconds maximum
please?

From experience, we all make silly mistakes, whilst tuning my FT-991A I got
distracted, with the result, I nuked the radio (since fixed) running on
full power on TUNE. It is not a pleasant experience the acrid smell of
burning electronic components!
