I used a RasPi4 2.6.0 rc1 and a FTDI to control my 1996 ft1000mp with a USB audio dongle for field day. The RadPi4 was headless using No Machine so I could operate remotely from the TV room with my Android phone or laptop.
FTDI has less problems especially with some other software works very well with N1MM. PROLIFIC does seem to work with wsjt-x and hamlib, but has had problems with N1MM and others.
