I have a 2018 era HP laptop Core i5 that causes audio drop outs if the HDMI is allowed to sleep (was about 10 minutes after bootup), even if it is not connected to anything. The Core i3 version of that same laptop series and date does not show that behavior. I am thinking the sleep transition affects the HDMI audio which in turn disrupts momentarily the whole audio chain which WSJTX is connected to. Similar to the effects of remote desktop connection disrupting the whole chain.

After some more tests I discovered that the monitor stand-by is affecting the audio chain somewhere. I disabled it and now, after 25 minutes, everything is working as expected. Now I try to leave the system unattended for more than 1 hour to see if it is really solved. 73s, Maurizio I2NOY Il 09/09/2022 16:15, Alan via wsjt-devel ha scritto: Might it be the HDD/SSD going to sleep? Only after about one hour I have described issues. 73s, Maurizio I2NOY Il 09/09/2022 14:36, Black Michael via wsjt-devel ha scritto: In device manager have you turn off power management on ALL of your devices? To trasnfer audio from Thetis to WSJTx I use the virtual audio cable solution in object. I noted, using WSJTx stable and new RC versions that, if I leave for about 1 hour the PC ON and in decoding, when I come back there is no audio sent by WSJTx to RTX (no power out) and in RX the audio coming in is erratic, with a lot of overflow in Virtual Audio Cable control panel. If I close WSJtx and launch again after a couple of seconds, the audio IN and OUT is again working as normal. I use Windows 11 with disabled any kind of power saving. I just wrote to the developer of VAC but I ask here too, if someone noted this issue, at 90% related to stand-by of something in the audio chain.
