For buster, use the Debian 11 script for now. Working on perfecting a
Debian 10 (Buster) script maybe next weekend. I tried to use the most
generic names for the libraries, so the 11 script should run. You can
comment out the CQRLog section to save time and space if you are not
building CQRLog from scratch. WSJT-X, W1HKJ, and tqsl I would keep.
Those sections represent to most well rounded option for just about all
of the ham radio software on Linux.

laziness, I tried the Mint 21 script from his site on a Raspberry Pi

On Mint 21, you have to build 2.5.4 from source, or, use a package from
the Mint 21 repository.
Go here and download the script for Mint 21. Run the script,
instructions inside the script. This will install all of the required
run time and build libraries for WSJT-X, W1HKJ (FLDigi, FLRig, etc...),
tqsl, and cqrlog from the Mint 21 repository.
