The FT-817 will tune to both 144 and 160 although the sensitivity seems to be
down at 160. It is still good enough to receive on 2320. Europe is
authorized 2320. The US is not. The US is authorized 2304. Europe is
not, at least not all countries. So I have to transmit on 144 and receive on
160. Europe has to transmit on 2320 and receive on 2304. Some operators
use transverter band switching but not all transverters can switch their LO on
the fly. They need to restart.

I use Fake It because I have found that Yaesu does not seem to like Split.
Even in Fake it, it seems to be lost for half a second when switching doing
Doppler tracking.

I usually only use the FT817 on 2304. I use the TS-2000x GPS locked on
all the other bands. The TS-2000x cannot tune to 160 MHz.

I am not sure about other rigs.
