Just to follow up on this—  any folks thinking about doing this with the Apple 
M1/M2 native build will need to re-sign the bundle otherwise the OS will fail 
to launch the app as the app’s signature won’t be valid any longer.  Plus I 
don’t know if sticking an Intel dylib in a Native build will work either (it 
should in theory but I haven’t tested).

I’ve been testing with the newer Hamlib with a native M1/M2 2.7.0-rc1 build.  
Much faster response times than with the currently available Intel build.
