Hi Al,
Although that may be handy setting, it is also a dangerous one. In windows all 
dings and dongs and possible voice such as Youtube are directed into the 
"default" audio sink. The wsjt-x output 'speaker' needs to be anything else but 
"default" or otherwise all those are transmitted on band.
