Welcome Ed, May I add into the list of questions for our help: Which rig? How is it connected to PC? Do you get any error messages? You may easily copy and paste error messages in a text format from the error window by Ctrl-C ja paste it as a text into your mail by Ctrl-V. No need to paint or copy as a picture.
