Bob,
For short time, before W9MDB fixed the issue in my case, I used my Orion in vox
mode. Once set up, that worked fine. It's something that can be considered in
such a situation and, for me anyway, had certain advantages. 73,Andy, ka2uqw

I don't believe it is an RFI issue as the only time it misbehaves is
immediately after starting the software. I can run 1kW without issues any
other time, so would tend to agree it is likely a hamlib issue. I use the
Yaesu FTDX5000.

Let me put my two cents in on this issue.
Some time ago, before W9MDB became SK, I began using a Ten Tec Orion on
digital modes. At times the rig was fine, but for what seemed like no reason,
the tx would hang on me. At times it was late going into tx. Much of the time
it was just fine. But it was unusable like this. W9MDB came to the rescue
telling me that it was a hamlib issue. Apparently he re-wrote that code and
the rig now works perfectly on digi modes. Mike worked quite a bit on the
issue to get it working right. I use the rig daily now on such modes.
Initially, Mike thought it might be rfi, but after some tests, this turned out
not to be the case.
So, when I saw the original post for this issue, I thought it best to chime
in and relate my experience.
Hope the issue gets resolved, no matter what rig folks are using.

- Program version - V3-RC1
- Operating system- Windows 10
- Concise description of the problem - I have been using V3-RC1 for some
time, but when first starting up and going into TX it often hangs in TX mode
for quite some time before it drops TX. Closing WXJT-X and reopening usually
clears it. Sometimes I have to do this 2 or 3 times, after which it works
perfectly. Once the "hanging TX" issue ceases everything works fine for the
rest of my session using it.
- Exact sequence of steps required to reproduce the problem- The quickest
way for me to test it is: after loading the program, press the Tune button then
press it again to switch it off quickly. If TX stops it is perfect, but if it
doesn't drop TX then I close WSJT-X and reopen it and try again until it works
properly.
Thanks
