John,
our changes to Web services in WTP 2.0 - so far anyways - have been
limited primarily to rolling bug fixes forward from 1.5.x. We will limit
our functional testing of Web services in M4 to our tutorials / smoke
tests plus at least one workspace compatibility test (ie. load into 2.0 M4
a simple 1.5.2 workspace containing Axis 1.3 Web services and clients and
insure it runs and redeploys normally). We will delve into more elaborate
functional testing in subsequent milestones as meaty changes, like Axis2
[1], appear.

[wtp-dev] WTP Component Teams Should Be Testing and Other Plans for the
Week

Hey guys,

Just in case there was any confusion, here is the schedule for the
remainder of 2006:

Tuesday and Wednesday - Component teams should be performing functional
testing for WTP 2.0 M4, as well as any compatibility testing with WTP
1.5.x (for more info, see below)

Thursday - Fix any critical/blocking/regression defects. We will have our
normal call to gauge team and M4 status.

Friday - Smoke test any updated drivers if you make changes. We won't
declare M4 on Friday because we are waiting for an official JEM build, but
we do want some sanity as to stability before bumping up the pre-reqs.

Thanks,

Re: M4 Builds ready for milestone testing...M4 Shutdown Plans UpdateLink

Ok, I must have had too much egg nog last weekend.... :-)

I declared the S build as our "integration" build, so I will be removing
the S build from the downloads site because now it looks like we have
declared M4. You can pick up the S build at the committers page to do
your testing.

M4 Builds ready for milestone testing...M4 Shutdown Plans Update

The WTP 2.0 M4 candidate build is smoked and ready for teams to start
their milestone test passes.

http://download.eclipse.org/webtools/downloads/drops/R2.0/S-2.0M4-200612180440/

Actions for Components:

(1) Please update your M4 milestone test coverage plans at
http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/WTP_Functional_Test_R20_M4

(2) Please update and follow instructions on creating compatibility tests
at http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/WTP_Compatibility_Tests

(3) Execute all milestone function tests and compatibilty tests on Tuesday
Dec 19 and Wednesday Dec 20.

(4) Fix any critical or blocking bugs.

(5) Smoke test any final M4 candidate build respins for Friday Dec 22.
Please publish a smoke test scenario link at
http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/WTP_Smoke_Test_Scenarios_R20

We will plan on waiting to announce M4 until we get an "official" update
of JEM on Jan 2 or 3. Hopefully we will still be able to declare on Jan
4th.

Please note: As we push to shutdown for M4, the only code changes which
should be released for a build are those to fix a blocking or critical
defect or to fix a regression.

Any questions, let myself or David know.

Thanks,
