Hi Jacek, Its purpose is to allow extenders to provide their own adaptor and figure factories, and possibly add actions to the menu and toolbar. There's something similar in the WSDL Editor too. This support hasn't been made into public API yet. If you want this, please open an enhancement request and describe what you want to extend.
