Ludo,

The strategy that is being followed is to use "Java EE" in user-facing
content (UI and documentation) and to use "jee" in places that are largely
outside of end-user view, where brevity is valued and full conformance is
not possible anyway (no spaces or caps in package names, for instance).

The new project is aligning with existing namespace to avoid creating
unnecessary confusion for adopters.

In either case, wtp-dev mailing list isn't a proper forum for this
discussion. You do not have the authority to represent Java brand and no one
on this list has legal background to evaluate these claims. You can discuss
this within Java org and if someone in position of authority wishes to
pursue this further, they should contact EMO. I believe EMO uses outside
council for advice relating to trademarks and branding.

Thanks,

- Konstantin

May I remind everyone on this list that the term "jee" should never be used,
or reused (in new features, for example this one)
Please try to accommodate this requirement.

The fact the Eclipse is delivering a Java EE Eclipse IDE version using the
jee name in the downloaded artifact is troubling, given that the legal
review process usually done by the Eclipse foundation is very strict.
