+1 for creating the possibility to change the implementation of wait logic. As
for the name - maybe just a `timer` is good? Having a solution as @jarib
suggested would make it possible to switch out the implementation of the whole
timer thus making it possible to use whatever timer is needed for whatever
purpose. The need might never arise, but when it does then it is at least
possible to do something without monkey-patching.
