You can also use Ruby's Net Http standard library if you just want to
do a simple file download:
require 'net/http'
Net::HTTP.start("www.ruby-lang.org") { |http|
resp = http.get("/images/logo.gif")
open("rubylogo.gif", "wb") { |file|
file.write(resp.body)
}
}
