You are talking about Modal Web Dialogs. These include HTML.

The only way i know of for handling them is to, first, use ie.remote_eval to click the link or button that posts the modal (so it doesn't hang your script), and then use ie.send_keys to send key events to the window to make it go away. I don't know of any way to access the data on these kinds of dialogs.

The only idea i have for a really good solution would be to make sense of this code:

But i fear that this can't be converted to Ruby directly and therefore would require a C library for Watir -- and i'm too dumb for that. Volunteers?
