You can run watir with the -b switch to make it faster. We are also working on other methods to improve performance.

But 200 sessions is a lot for watir. Most boxes cannot support that many instances of IE, whether you are using watir or just creating IE sessions manually.

simultaneous sessions on the system ... That would possibly be better
suited for simple HTTP calls directly... ( like using uri-open or wget
