Anyways the problem i was facing is somewhat solved for now.
I have taken some tips from this mailing list and put in an entry in the FAQ http://wiki.openqa.org/display/WTR/FAQ. Hope the description given there is clear and helpful

A web recorder may automate writing a script, but searching the mailing list and updating the FAQ are still manual processes.
