I didn't know about this. This is great! Thanks for sharing. I did know about the Firefox plugin, and had tried some third-party IE plug-in's some time ago, but had mostly been using Spy Smith to get this kind of information. This one is very convenient. I also find the View -> Class and ID Information option to be helpful.
Chris -- You and Dave should use this in the Scripting for Testers class. I think it'll make things go faster. We tried to use the Firefox plugin for the class a while ago, but it was too confusing to have them go back and forth between IE and Firefox.

Everyone else probalby knows about this already, but I discovered it a
couple weeks ago, and it's been very usefulll. It's the IE dev toolbar
from Microsoft:

While it's got some good stuff like clearing the cache and outlining
tables and stuff, the most usefull feature I to me is the "Select
Element by Click" option when using the "View DOM" view. You click
anything on the page, and the ID, name, and other attributes are shown
to you. You can easily copy and paste those attributes into your
editor. When clicking items, they are outlined, so it's easy to grab
the right nested table or button or whatever.
Anyways, maybe it'll help someone besides me.
Thanks,
