I'll add the link from the FAQ and the instructions to the dev build page. The gemspec has all the information required to build the gem. The rakefile can do gem it up and more, but if you're just looking for the gem then it's pretty easy given Watir really doesn't have that many requirements.

I'm not sure about the batch file idea. But i'd like to see these instructions on the Wiki. I was thinking they could go on the development builds page, maybe with a link from the FAQ, if it isn't there already.
BTW, i've used rake to create the gems, and didn't realize you could build them without rake installed.
