discussions so please let me know if I'm completely missing the point.
but...
it would make sense to me to aim to have everything default
to 0-based indexing. Ruby has 0-based indexing (for arrays at least).
I forget enough things already, so I'd prefer to not have to remember when
I need to use which indexing.

Are you going to make :index 0 based? I remember there was a discussion about it.
I think it would be nice to offer the option of 0 or 1 based indexing. The 1 based indexing is particularly awkward when working with tables. But i have no immediate plans to do this. Comments?
