Raghu, I suspect that you are fine. If you want, you can run "core_tests.rb". There are some unit tests that often fail, and these have been removed. So if core-tests run fine, i think you are good.
Also if you want, you can send us the actual text of the error messages and we can let you know if you should be worried. You can also use Watir 1.5 right now. It is still in development, and lacks documentation. It also has a few regression bugs. But mostly it is stable. To find it, just google for "watir 1.5".
