I didn't fully read this thread, this is exactly what is happening to me, I traced the to the Ruby level in my post, "A Different WIN32OLERuntimeError", even though it is exactly the same problem this gentleman is having =|
I want to think this may somehow be related to a .NET Framework [automatic?] update that took place at some point. I fear the only solution is a reinstall of Windows.
