Honestly, I would: uninstall Ruby > remove physical Ruby directory > reinstall 
Ruby > from command prompt: `gem install watir`

This is almost guaranteed to work, although I'm willing to be you could get 
away with just a `gem install watir` from the command prompt without 
uninstalling Ruby. For some reason the gem install/update just works more 
reliably for me.
