If you're planning to race and think you might be fast enough for an A
upgrade, but currently don't have a USAC Collegiate A, or USAC MTB Cat 1 or
2 (formerly Pro,Expert), then we need to get you upgraded before you race,
or you'll have to race a lower category.

There are separate, independent upgrades for cross country and for gravity.

You could consider yourself likely fast enough for A, if you commonly got on
the podium in Sport Class, or midpack in Expert class. Or you're old and
like single speeds. Otherwise, you could do a group ride with some
experienced riders and we'll tell you.

There is also a local XC MTB race at Coopers Rock on Sunday. You could give
racing a try there, although collegiate is a bit easier and more fun
spirited than WVMBA, though WVMBA isn't bad.

We'll cover it more at the Wednesday meeting, but you'll have to be quick in
getting your resume together and be upgraded by Saturday's race.

You can email me if this applies to you.
