As a point of history, the team used to be known for the "Spin-a-thon" or as
Steve Nutt unknowingly posted "Spin-a-thong". We did it for I think 6 years,
and it fell through in the past few because too few people wanted to assist.
The 2 times I was involved, I think we ended up donating $500 to some local
charities.

Any charity work most assuredly does help with public relations, which comes
into play with sponsorship, but also when the team needs a favor like say, a
race/practice venue. Or maybe just respect on the road.

However, it's also a HUGE PITA if only 3-5 offer to help, ESPECAILLY if this
is a 24hr event. Keep in mind this is VT (Championship weekend), so quite a
few aren't going to be, and can't be expected to skip that race weekend for
it. But there are far more members than race that can donate a few hours of
a 24 session, even if it's broken into pieces of time.

This would also go directly towards SCF funding.

I talked to JR and he's willing to help me get everyone else involved so I
guess I'll be creating the team in the next few days. If you come up with
any fund-raising ideas, let me know.

Will do. Also, the required entry fee is $10 per person and whatever we can
raise after that. It looks like the team to beat currently is the Pharmacy
School.. they have over a thousand.

I'd like to do it then so let me know if we enter a team.
