As Chad mentioned, there is a bike safety course coming up. Currently 2 versions available, a weekly 1Hr Monday evening version over 9 weeks, or a single weekend version. You can see the info at http://bikemorgantown.com/courses.php, but the course requires 4 people or it's not worth teaching, so pre-reg is important.
Info can be found on the website. If you think you know all there is to riding a bike in traffic, I can assure you that you're wrong. Full weekend course is during Duke Weekend, March 5-6. FYI: The actual cost of this course without subsidy is around $190. It's free for WVU students/faculty/staff. Disclaimer: This course is not intended to keep you safe during bike races, that's a whole different beast, but there are some applicable skills. Also be aware that trainers can also be hazardous, if not to your health, than at least to your morale. http://wvucycling.blogspot.com/2008/09/bicycle-accident.html
