Everyone,
Just a reminder that we will be having our regularly scheduled meeting at
8PM in the Bluestone room of the Lair tomorrow evening. Because of our home
race as well as several other items up for discussion, meeting attendance
is MANDATORY for ALL MEMBERS, mountain or road. We need to discuss things
such as marshals, lead and follow cars, and the like. All of our road only
guys were very attentive to the race at Wisp and I fully expect mountain
only guys to be the same next weekend. Your attendance and assistance with
the race is REQUIRED and if you can not make it you need to provide me
reasoning by no later than tomorrow. If we do not see you there your
membership status could be in question. I hate to sound like a
drill sergeant but it is very difficult to put on a race like this so we
need all the help we can get. Below is a list of what we need so everyone
can start thinking:
Marshals for crit
We are going to need about 16 marshals for the crit course on Saturday
the 14th from 8:30 AM to about 5 PM. The Clarksburg Police will not be
helping out this year so we have to cover everything. There are 8 major
intersections and it would be nice to have 2 people at each. Ideally, we
would like to have 32 volunteers lined up for the day so that we could
rotate in and out but I dont see that as being a feasible number. Honestly,
if we get 16 and rotate those in and out that would be great.
Marshals and drivers for Road race
The road race course is much easier to marshal and requires many less
people. we will be needing 11 marshals for the road course. 2 for each of
the 4 major intersections, 2 for the downhill to stop traffic, and one
person to stop traffic for the finish. However, we will also be needing
drivers to drive lead and follow cars for the road race. We will need 2
trucks to use for the day to operate as wheel/follow cars. If you can drive
a lead/follow car, we will cover your gas and everything as long as you
save your receipts.
Again, more detail will be given at the meeting tomorrow so I can not
stress enough how important it is to be there. See everyone then.
