Ahhhhh this old argument. This was prevelant during the Post Regime. Although in the end it's a team effort, the foundation of cycling (like many sports) is the individual member's motivation. So you probably fall into one of two categories: 1) You ride hard (or try to) and you want everyone else on the team to ride as hard as you. However, you fail to properly motivate your cycling brethren and therefore anything said about the effort of others sounds antagonistic. 2) You don't ride that hard, just enjoy it, and don't enjoy others telling you should be riding harder. Therefore any criticism received on your level of effort has no positive effect on your motivation. Whether you complain about yourself not being fast, complain about others not being faster, or complain about others complaining about how other people are riding - one universal law trumps all: shut up and ride*. *I acknowledge the hypocracy of my post I've paid my dues, but not in the monetary sense. I miss you all.
