Following a discussion with an English speaker, this is the
translation of the last part of my article about Web 2.0 services,
online data and your data independence: [It's all about you][1]
Here a simple list of questions you should try to answer:
* How many distant services you are using for your professional
activity?
* How many persons are dependent of these services in your structure?
* Are there other APIs on the market, softwares which work alike? (Are
you sure you will be able to use another service without troubles?)
* Have you tested these services or softwares? What will you win, what
will you loose?
* Can you export your data from the service? How much time does it
take to export a large volume of data?
* Is the exporting data format usable with loosing information? You
might have enriched your raw data by putting them on a service, can
you get back the data and the products of your data work?
* What are the damages for your own activity if the service disappear
suddenly?
