Hi there,
after watching the panel (thanks for the stream), I realized two things
I might have asked when I would have been there...:
a) We were told that people should file bugs when things are broken in
specs or products. This works great for specs and "open" products like
FF/Chrome/Webkit, but not very well for the other browsers. All of these
have channels to report problems, but as far as I can tell, most of them
are black holes; you never get feedback and in some cases, you can't
even check the status (be it because it's only email, or because the
vendor closes reports as Duplicate and then doesn't give you access to
the ticket that it was a Duplicate of).
b) I'm relatively happy with the feedback that we get from most of the
browser developers. On the other hand, it seems to be next to impossible
to get feedback from their services counterparts (I'm looking at you,
Exchange and GMail). It would be great if the browser teams could
encourage their colleagues working on services to participate.
Best regards, Julian
