Hi,
apparently I just came across a problem with my wwwoffle setup. I am using
wwwoffle ver. 2.5e, based on SuSE 6.2, kernel upgraded to 2.2.15.
Earlier this morning, I downloaded an rpm file through Netscape 4.73 on a
WindowsNT client. Netscape's proxy settings for
- Http,
- Security,
- Ftp,
point to wwwoffle on the Linux box which does the modem dialup (IP no., port
8080).
The download process looked normal but when I tried to install the rpm file,
I couldn't (Invalid: PREIN). I downloaded the file again, this time with a
proper ftp client and I could install the rpm without any problem.
I realised that there was a slightly different size for both downloaded rpm
files and I did some further download tests for that particular file through
Netscape with different settings.
When I don't use an ftp proxy setting in Netscape, the download is OK (=
smaller rpm file size), when I go through wwwoffle ftp proxy, the file is
704 bytes larger than the "correct" one which is either downloaded through
ftp client or Netscape without an ftp proxy.
I assume I might be doing wrong with a wwwoffle setting in my configuration
file but all variations that I tried (i.e.: don't cache any ftp data) ended
up with the same results.
Any help with that?
Kind Regards,
Michael Doerner
