I am not sure, but I don't believe that wxAUI was included in version 2.6.2. I think your best bet would be to download a later version (probably the latest 2.8.4) and start over.
If memory serves, wxAUI was included in version 2.8.0, prior to this, you had to download a separate library from Kirix (the writers of wxAUI) and build it separately.
So the solution would be to upgrade to the latest version of wxWidgets, and start over.
