I only used dialogblocks for designing dialogs and copy paste the code.

Oops, i thought i solved that, but it might be the latetest wxWidgets version
problem.
Unicode should work, unless i forgot wxT("") around some string again.

Isn't Unicode supposed to work with wxArt2D?
Yes.
I do not need Unicode yet, but soon enough. In addition with wxWidgets
2.9.0 there is more trouble to come, they changed some basic interfaces.
I know, complicated, so i wait for that version to be official.
I still need to draw my first line with wxArt2D myself, but now I
understand a lot about thinks I did not even knew they exist.
