*raises hand* - while I'm sure having a load of modules you can load into any Lua application is handy, my use case just requires a big fat lump of an interpreter with them in already. As a user and developer, autotools make me cry. My life would be so much easier without them - especially on occasions like this where they get it wrong, and they produce a Makefile that is turgid in the extreme and impossible to debug!
