I have used Git on a mixed Windows + Linux environment for the 10
months I mentioned. I do prefer using it mostly through command line,
so I cannot comment on GUI front ends. Also, running git with no Linux
hosts which can work as "servers" would be more difficult.

I haven't had need to do this, but the documents do claim that Git
also supports http and https protocols. (I use it over ssh)
But, as wxWidgets is using svn, I guess that is a reasonable reason to
use SVN with wxLua too. (otherwise I still prefer Git)
