I don't speak ubuntu releases, but Debian etch (stable) has no 
libwx-perl while lenny (testing) has 0.82.  If you don't have that in 
your apt-cache, I'll guess that your ubuntu is of the etch flavor.

If you're worried, you could install libwxgtk and say 'no' to the 
building, but IIRC, that was no fun on etch so it's probably best to 
fetch and let it build.

Well, you'll need to fix this:

In patches/data, you'll find the url.  I think this will do it:
