I ususally install from a mirror, and they have the kits in the
'Everything' section.
Everything/source/SRPMS/perl-Alien-wxWidgets-0.32-4.fc9.src.rpm
Everything/source/SRPMS/perl-Wx-0.81-1.fc9.src.rpm
Everything/i386/os/Packages/perl-Alien-wxWidgets-0.32-4.fc9.i386.rpm
Everything/i386/os/Packages/perl-Wx-0.81-1.fc9.i386.rpm
In the mean time (vacation... ;-)) I isolated the problem to the
following:
$ perl -MWx -e 0
panic: free from wrong pool during global destruction.
This happens at perl exit, and it is mostly harmless (for some meaning
of mostly).
$ perl -MWx -e '$ENV{foo} = "bar"'
panic: realloc from wrong pool at -e line 1.
panic: free from wrong pool during global destruction.
The first panic is a fatal one.
I just returned from my vacation and I haven't caught up on the
mailing lists, but I think this may be some deeper perl problem that
is discovered by Wx.
