I haven't been able to keep up with the Padre development in the past few weeks, but I just tried and no, the instructions aren't sufficient any more. On the other hand, I don't think the underlying problem has been solved. I managed to badly crash the application by simply using it for some time and closing it eventually several times. If you want to track down the issue, I would suggest you simply get revision 2680 and follow the instructions I gave. I just hope that none of the dependencies that have since released a new version on CPAN don't interfere.
